When The Snow Falls

The snow finally came to visit my neighborhood this past weekend.  It was a very brief stay but it was beautiful and I am grateful.  I took a photo walk through our garden and these are some of my favorites.  If you would like to see more, you can view the whole collection on Flickr:  Garden in Snow.

Wherever you are and whatever you are buried under, Dear Friends, may you know it sure and strong that there is beauty and hope even in Winter.

  1. Beautiful pics! Love it. We don't get much snow here so this makes me happy to see.:)

  2. Thanks, Krystle! Yeah, we rarely get any here either, and it's never very much and almost always gone within a day or two. I suppose if we got mountains and mountains of snow every winter, I might get tired of it--but I'm not even sure about that! I'm so thankful it came on my day off so I could get out and take pictures before it melted. Made my heart very happy!

  4. Courtney, these are beautiful! You have a great eye, and your camera captures every little snow flake. It's amazing! We've had a TON of snow this year, so it's only fitting that it snows in Seattle as we head out that way. ;)

The picture of the cistern with the snow on it literally gets me every time. You could frame that!

  5. Thank you for kind words, Daniel! You know what the really awesome thing is? This gift of seeing and capturing the beauty of nature's tiny details, it is as much a gift to me as it is to those I am able to share it with. Pure joy when I'm out there with camera in hand, face pressed up close to God's handiwork. So grateful!

  6. Thank you, Dear Kim! It's fun to discover the details when you look closely at things--even things I don't see when I'm shooting the photo will be caught by the camera and give me a delightful surprise when I review the pictures. God's like that, too. Always surprising me with details I didn't expect. And yes, it cracks me up that we got snow the weekend before you're coming to town. By the way, totally can't wait!! Don't worry, though. Forecast is for rain, Rain, RAIN this week, so you'll be safe from snow--just very, very wet :)

  8. Thank you, Dear Christina! Yes, I think the climate here graces us with much color even through the winter. And perhaps the white of the snow further enhances whatever color there is in contrast. Thank you for sending blessing back my way--your words found me on the day I was curled up in bed, writhing with terrible flu symptoms. His strength did indeed carry me through and I am grateful. Love to you on this Valentine's Day and always.
